I want to be a Lilikoi Boy

Today was a cold showery day. I loved it. My Lilikoi boy and I went to church like we do every Sunday. This Sunday brought an unexpected and small surprise. In Relief Society we talked about the talk given by Henry B. Eyring, "Mountains to Climb". This talk reminded me of the time that Michael and I were the NICU with PC and Jordan. It was a very spiritual time. The NICU is such a special place. All those babies and parents; all so close to Heaven. I remember watching Iola and Ikaika and thinking not about whether or not things would go wrong, but how precious they were; just leaving the presence of Heavenly Father and coming to PC and Jordan. Now that I think about I am grateful that PC and Jordan let us be that close and involved in such a sacred experience.

As I thought about the boys and the NICU, I was reminded that the Atonement is not only for forgiveness, but for love and comfort and knowing that Jesus Christ has suffered that we would not have to suffer. He has done the hard and grievous things so that we can find happiness. It's hard to think that I don't have to take on all the burdens thrown at me....but the truth is, I don't have to, if I choose to give it to the Lord.

Oh yes a wonderful day it is!

Anyway, the title of the post comes from the song "Lilikoi Boy" by Jonsi. One day hopefully I have more Lilikoi Boys running around me!

Aloha!

  1. Thank you for sharing your beautiful thoughts. The Atonement is such a glorious gift that a Father could give to his children. And all He ask is that we use it to help us experience the happiness and joy of his mercy while on life's journey. Thank you for the reminder. Mom
