Beauty in the World

Okay world. I have had about enough and too much of the internet. For much of the beginning of May I have spent a significant amount of time watching “Ugly Betty”. I started in the middle of season 2 and moved quickly through 3 and 4.
My first conclusion on the series? It is great and almost every episode has a moral lesson to be learnt.  Let me list a few for you.
  1. In every episode, Betty Suarez comes to work dressed in “her fashion”. She puts together her own outfits and decides whether it looks awesome or not. She refuses to let her co-workers change how she feels about her outfit. Feel proud of who you are and represent your best self.
  2. Be kind. No matter where you are, who is around you, or what has been said. You have the right to be kind and nice to everyone around you.
  3. Be bold and beautiful. As you are true to who you are inside, you will find happiness beyond compare!
  4. Love your family and do kind things for them. I love that her family is always there for her and when we see how she treats them it is easy to see why. All I can say is that it is true, “Your family will always be there for you and will always help you out”.
  5. Honesty is the best policy. I love that Betty finds it hard to keep secrets from people or lie to others. She feels a sense of duty to others. I love that. Our friends and family deserve our loyalty and honesty in all situations.
  6. Dance and Eat! You gotta live life and take things easy! There is always time for shaking and munching. Especially if it’s chocolate.
  7. Love what you do! So definitely find joy in your job and in LIFE! Like Pres. Monson said, “Find the JOY IN THE JOURNEY”.

Anyway…as Macy Gray said (in the last song played in the series finale)

"There is beauty in the world
So much beauty in the world
Always beauty in the world
So much beauty in the world”

I know I should probably end my post here, but I know that there is more to report so let me back track and see if there is some news that I have forgotten to announce!

  • About 3 weeks ago (maybe) Michael and I could not sleep, so…..we made spam, eggs and toast and watch “The 3 Ninjas”. What was I thinking? Honestly, I thought to myself “If you’re going to get married, make sure he is the type to eat spam and eggs and watch “The 3 Ninjas”.

  • May 17th was celebrated with a big sign for our MONKEY, Trenna Leiataua! We are super proud of this cutie and couldn’t be happier! Seminary and High School! Awesomation for sure! And who were the sign holders? That is right, myself and PC. Which brings me to my next highlight…
  • So Sister PC and Iola and Ikaika and I decided to walk to Laie from Kahuku. What were we thinking, right? Anyway, I hopped on the bus and walked back the 3miles to Laie. I can’t say I hated it because I really didn't. Although I will admit to the pain in my back thigh and feet.
  • Another highlight? I worked out every day this week, except today (obviously I must rest for recuperation) I am happy for that!
  • I got offered a job at BYU-Hawaii, which makes me suber-deee-dooper happy. I am happy to get back to work. But I will miss seeing my nephews whenever I want! Which brings me to another lesson/ highlight/ announcement…
  • Sister PC has taught me a lot with regards to MOTHERHOOD! And watching her with her boys, I feel a sense of gratitude…for someone as brave as her to take on two little souls and wait on them hand and foot. One day we were talking about jobs. I saw a job post and told her “Dude, you are totally qualified for this job” and she responded “Yeah, but I am the only one qualified for this job (pointing to the twins)”. Yes…Yes with all my heart! I am looking forward to that time when I can say “I am qualified to be a Mommy and I am the only one who can do it right!” One day Mafatu!
So my OHANA there is beauty in the world, you just need to know where to look!
