So these past couple weeks have been slow and uninteresting but that is the reason I have enjoyed them. I am beginning to realize that I need to appreciate the calm and mundane days because when the storm comes it does not hold back. I have been working and sleeping and yes I was sick last weekend, but gratefully that is over. I'm convinced it was the flu but Michael says that it wasn't. He did take care of me though and is the reason I am all healthy today. Bubbah got sick as well but he pulled through. I think those 3-4 days he was sick he slept waaaay good (and so did we).
Anyway, in other news, we have been seriously contemplating buying a dining table. I really really want to because it will help us to get bubbah used to eating solids. How are the 2 related? Well, here is my logic and rationale; I believe that if we have a designated place to eat at, we'll want to set a designated time to eat and in doing that we'll get bubbah on an eating schedule and be able to get more solids to him. Make sense? No? Well, I really don't care if it makes sense to anyone but Michael, because he is my main obstacle. I just want to make our little apartment a homey home. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?
Anyway, my sweet Michael also bought me an early birthday present. My Big Buddah Black bag and I love it!!!! He is such a sweetie bear. My bubbah is getting so big and funny. He is going to be 8 months in a little bit and I cannot believe it! He has this thing he does whenever he sees the bathroom door left open. It's like a shriek and a squeal. We always just burst out laughing when he does that. What's funnier is that he starts crawling as fast as he can towards the door and wiggles his body through the crack in the door just so he can get into the bathroom. He just likes to get in there because we always tell him he can't be in there. Michael realized today we should say he can't be in there alone, because when we start potty training him he's going to HAVE to be in there. So we adjusted the words we use and we let him in there when we're getting ready. He likes that, a lot :).
Another thing that bubbah likes is Michael's bass guitar. He likes to pluck at the strings and hit the frame. Also he loves when we sing and that's something we do regularly. We just jam on the guitar and Michael on his bass. We bought Micah a little egg that has stuff in it and it mimics a snare really good. Micah is still learning how to use it but for now he can hold it and stick it in his mouth; we'll get there.Micah is also learning to smile at other people now. When we go to church he is more willing to look at others and smile back. At the doctor's office he gave his best and longest smile to the nurse. I was so proud of him; I think he is warming up to being around others.Michael and I also talk about how lucky we are to have bubbah. He has really brought life full circle for us. I told Michael that I can't really remember life without him; I feel like he has also been with us. Just blows my mind to think he's been with us for only 8 months.
